Filter Settings

Adjust image settings to get the best picture quality from your cameras. Filters can be applied to all cameras at once or per camera individually.

Camera Selector

The Camera dropdown at the top of the Filter Settings panel lets you choose which camera the filters apply to. Select "All Cameras" to adjust all cameras at once, or pick a specific camera to configure it individually.

Key Settings

These are the most commonly used filters for getting a good image.

Filter Range Description
Camera Gain 0 – 35 Controls the camera sensor's analog gain. Higher values brighten the image but also increase noise. This is a hardware setting on the camera itself.
Exposure 0 – 1 Controls the exposure time of the camera sensor. Lower values reduce motion blur but make the image darker. Increase gain or boost to compensate.
Boost 1 – 5 (1 = OFF) Software brightness multiplier applied to all RGB channels. Use this when gain alone is not enough. Higher values brighten the image but may wash out colors.
Gamma 0 – 1 (1 = OFF) Non-linear brightness correction. Lifts dark areas without overexposing bright areas. Useful for getting detail out of shadows.
Camera Gain and Exposure availability

Camera Gain and Exposure are hardware settings and only available on supported camera models (RingShot High-Speed Camera, OBSBOT). They will not appear in the panel for cameras that don't support them.

Additional Filters

These filters are more situational and usually don't need adjustment for a standard setup.

Filter Range Description
Denoise OFF / LOW / MEDIUM / HIGH / ULTRA Reduces image noise. Useful at high gain values where the image gets grainy. Higher levels smooth the image more but may reduce fine detail.
Saturation 1 – 2 (1 = OFF) Increases color intensity. Can help make colored markers or equipment more visible.
Histogram 0 – 3 (0 = OFF) Histogram-based contrast adjustment. Stretches the brightness range to use the full dynamic range. Can improve contrast in flat images.

Checkboxes

Option Description
PWM Deflicker Removes flickering caused by PWM-driven LED lighting. If your indoor lighting causes visible banding or flickering in the footage, enable this.
Lens Undistortion Corrects barrel distortion from the camera lens. This feature is experimental and may not work correctly with all lenses.
Lens Undistortion is Experimental

The Lens Undistortion feature is currently in a testing phase. Results may vary depending on the camera and lens combination. Use with caution.

Recommended Starting Point

For a typical indoor setup, start with these settings and adjust from there:

  1. Set Exposure low enough to eliminate motion blur in your footage
  2. Increase Camera Gain until the image is reasonably bright
  3. If the image is still too dark, increase Boost
  4. Use Gamma to bring out detail in darker areas without blowing out highlights
  5. If the image is noisy, apply Denoise at LOW or MEDIUM
